MEMBERSHIP AT NPC IS A PRIVILEGE AND A JOY!

Welcome to the New Members page. We are glad that you have found your way here. You may be wondering what membership at NPC is all about. We offer New Members classes three times a year so that you can learn more about us, and what membership at NPC both offers and requires.

The next class will take place in the fall from 10:30 - 11:30 AM on four consecutive Sundays: Oct. 24, 31, and Nov. 7 and 14. The final class on Nov. 14 will be extended to noon for the taking of membership vows with the Session, followed by a light luncheon.

Additional classes will be offered in January and March/April 2011.

Childcare for children 5 and under is available with registration. The class and childcare is free of charge.

Our New Members class centers around the four Membership Vows in the Presbyterian Church. They are:

Q. Who is your Lord and Savior?
A. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior

Q. Do you trust in him?
A. I do.

Q. Do you intend to be His disciple, to obey His word and to show His love?
A. I do.

Q. Will you be a faithful member of this congregation, giving of yourself in every way, and will you seek the fellowship of the Church wherever you may be?
A. I will.

At the class, pastors and staff give talks on what it means to be a Christian, what it means to be a Presbyterian, and what it means to be a member of NPC. Participants have their questions answered and join into discussion in small groups. Elders and team leaders introduce their ministries and invite new members to join in. Participants meet the pastors, other new members and members of the Session. If you choose to join the church, you will answer the membership questions in front of the Session. You will be introduced to the congregation at the front of the church the following Sunday at the 10:30 worship service.
