Caring
Who We Are.
In his letter to the churches in and around Ephesus, Paul urges his sisters and brothers in the faith “to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,” and then he goes on to describe the calling, writing, “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1a-3, NRSV)
Here, Paul captures the essence of our Caring Ministries at Noroton Presbyterian. The humble privilege and call of the Christian life is in extending care and compassion to each other amidst our collective joys and sorrows, amidst the calm and the stormy weather of life. At NPC our many Caring Ministries leaders are the arms and feet, the hands and heart of Jesus! The Board of Deacons, 30 members strong, strive to welcome and greet, to transport and provide, to host and serve. Our Parish Visitors Team extend themselves with consistent prayerful care for our infirmed and home bound. Our six Stephen Leaders and 20 active Stephen Ministers minister on the frontlines at NPC and beyond, by offering their distinctively Christian and confidential care to others! And Gale Baldwin, our Parish Associate, brings much experience in hospice care, crisis intervention, and hospital chaplaincy. Our many and gifted caring leaders, with all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in love, are there for you, with Christ, for Christ, and because of Christ!
