Congregational Life
Integration
We actively encourage new members and less active current members find areas of interest to them in the life of the church.
We assist the Membership Director in new member classes, and offer a series of informal opportunities provided exclusively for those involved in new member classes to be exposed to one or more long-standing members on a personal one-on-one or small group basis.
Our team is intentional in our daily conversations with all members to keeping our eyes/ears open to indications of those who might wish to become more active, and may be simply awaiting a spoken invitation.
Fellowship
Our team acts in a hospitality role, seeking to make all members comfortable in any/all situations whether they are new to a group or have been a longtime attendee.
We try to organize and host several activities each year that have congregation-wide appeal to provide forums for members and friends to enjoy each other's company and personal journeys informally.
Participation
We collaborate with other ministries in getting the word out about various programs available either seasonally or throughout the year. We encourage members who have faithfully stayed in their chosen program, either out of habit or comfort, to branch out and experiment with trying additional or alternative offerings.
We encourage all members to participate in some way in some program or activity that will give them the opportunity to further deepen their relationship with God through study and fellowship with others.
We are currently considering the appropriate format of a Spiritual Gifts offering, to help those interested in more deeply understanding the unique gift(s) that God has bestowed upon each of us.
Service
NPC wants to make it possible for every member to express his or her gifts in ministry, in whatever limited or expansive amount of time each individual has available to them.
Our team assists in matching volunteers with ministries. We are frequently called upon to help find interested individuals to provide a wide variety of services, ranging from as little as 15 minutes prior to a meeting, to as much as an hour or two weekly.
To discover how you can help facilitate one or more of the ministries in our church and/or community partners, check out the individual ministry section for contact information; use the Response Card at the end of the 'Many Hands Make Light Work' ministry opportunities booklet available at the church; or check the online version.
To determine a program to enrich your life and broaden your friendships, and/or to discover how you might find joy and satisfaction in helping others in God's name, call me at the church.
