World Vision, Dominican Republic |

Noroton has sent five teams to the Dominican Republic (November 2003-2007), in partnership with World Vision, to begin and deepen a relationship with brothers and sisters in Christ. We have also received three visits from our D.R. mission partners, Luis Fragosa and Claudio Done..
Specifically, we are concentrating our efforts in a remote western portion of the country that closely borders Haiti, another nation struggling greatly with poverty. Our shared ministry is in the Restauracion ADP (Area Development Program). We have made a substantial four-prong commitment to our work and ministry:
The building of a critically needed water irrigation system
The building of a library for children and youth
The sponsorship of hundreds of children
The building of 10 homes
We anticipate a long-term, mutual relationship with God's people in the Dominican Republic. One of the primary ways we intend to build bridges is to regularly send mission teams who will invest time and self in getting to know the people and our ministry initiatives, and then, return to NPC to bear witness to what God is allowing our mission giving to accomplish.
These mission trips are more short-term (5-7 days), involve a relatively short flight (about 3 ½ hours), and are within the budget of many. We pray that over the years a number of our members will make a commitment to see for themselves how our partnership in the D.R. fulfills both Great Commissions.
