Norwalk Emergency Shelter |
| |
The mission of the NES is to provide safe, sanitary shelter care to
homeless men, women and families; to assist shelter residents in
searching for housing, jobs, counseling and treatment and to foster
residents' growth toward independence and responsibility.
Noroton members and friends are involved in many aspects of the work and ministry of the Shelter. Members have been preparing and serving meals for a number of years. Within the last few years, we have increased the breadth and depth of our participation. In 2004, for instance, we participated in cooking and serving over 2500 meals and coordinated drives for clothing and other needed items. Members also attended the Shelter's annual dinner, played in the golf tournament, painted the dining area and foyer and decorated dorm areas with ornaments made by NPC families.
